Last weekend I was lucky enough to visit my awesome friend Stephanie down in Austin, Texas. She was a fantastic host, carting my friend Jessica and I to all sorts of delicious restaurants and unique shops. I had so much fun that it was painful to come back home to icy Indiana.
Almost as soon as our plane landed we headed out for some margaritas and tex-mex at Guero's Taco Bar. The food was pretty tasty, I had the Chicken al Carbon Enchiladas. Jessica ordered the Chalupa Plate and Steph had the Tamale Plate. My fave part of the meal (other than the yummy margaritas) was probably the salsas. Especially the Tomatillo salsa which was so refreshing and, thankfully, cilantro free! As for those margaritas, I sampled the Strawberry and Mango flavors, Jess had the raspberry, all were delicious.
After food we wandered around South Congress Ave, checking out all of the cool shops and buying little things here and there. I fell in love with these gorgeous cowboy boots. Unfortunately at $499 they were a little (aka A LOT) out of my price range. Someday, someday.
After shopping a bit we stopped back at Snack Bar for a cocktail. All three of us had the Vya Royale (trocadero, vya sweet, sugar cube, orange) it was bubbly, fruity and just sweet enough. Next up, Saturday!
The boots look as fab as the food! What a great trip, and you take wonderful photos!
